Rationale and Learning Objectives: Participants will understand how to effectively utilize the School Improvement Plan to drive the change process and ensure continual support with shared responsibility for all stakeholder groups.

Explain how your session addresses overcoming barriers to continuous school improvement.: The session will explore ways to measure and document progress; determine if current school-level actions/strategies are aligned to the stated goals; and determine if these actions are having a positive impact on student learning.

How will the content of your session propel a school improvement team to move forward?: School improvement teams will leave equipped with tools to examine the quality of school-level efforts and determine the existence and quality of current progress measures.

How might your session align with the JCPS Instructional Model? (Plan/Implement/Reflect): All aspects of the JCPS instructional plan are included in the school improvement planning process.  The workshop will allow teams to reflect on current school improvement practices within the context of measuring progress; and, planning adjustments to the current plan to create stronger alignment to stated goals and student needs.  Implementation occurs as schools return to their school improvement team work sessions to strategize next steps, communication, implementation, and monitoring of next steps.
